Christmas 2 or Birthday 2 for your kids? Do you buy gifts and stuff or just stick to the traditional basket and candy?

Easter is all about the rebirth of the almighty Retail Machine that basically died at Christmas.

    Ironic, eh?

I fill the basket with gifts and a little bit of candy. They also get candy in some of the hidden eggs.

No, we hide empty plastic eggs which keeps in tune with the empty tomb we are celebrating. I make baskets with Eastery panties, candles, socks, etc. I never filled up with candy for Easter. A nice church outfit and a basket of assorted goodies that they could use, not get wild on!

My daughter is only 20 months old. I dont buy her lots of candy. I got her a little candy and some Hot Wheels toys and a little dump truck. She likes toy cars. Ill probly stick with traditional candy when she gets older though. My family mostly gave her fruit or animal crackers and my sister got her some bath “paints” and a water squirter.

No. It’s Birthday 2 for me. I tell my kids that if they don’t do all the yard work, by sundown, they’ll be resurrected as Mr. and Miss Potato-heads.

The Nightmare of Christmas II is more the word! When my kids were little it was simply the Easter basket…I had problems with that back then. Where did the crucifixion of Christ, chocolate bunnies, edible chocolate crosses, colored eggs, jellybeans and gifts find common ground anyway? Ahhhh…the corporations must love it : ) !! Have a great day! Annie

I did not do either. They went to Dallas with their father. I did get them Valentines gifts though (not anything like the Christmas gifts though)
