Struggling with making a bow out of wire ribbon?

I am making gift baskets for the holidays and I’m in the final stages of the process. The baskets that I am using have side swing handles which has made it a bit more difficult to shrink wrap.
I am also using some gold wire ribbon that is fairly wide to make bows for the basket handles. After watching countless tutorials my bows STILL keep turning out like a kid trying to tie their shoelace.
What am I doing wrong? Have ANY suggestions? Please help!!!

There is a product that is sold to make bows. It can be bought from Michael’s ( a craft store ) or other places that sell craft items. That would be your best bet.

take the end of your ribbon and wrap it over your index finger, this should make a loop or circle. now holding the ribbon between your thumb and index finger (still wrapped)
twist the ribbon and make a loop. You will continue this pattern until you have the number of loops that you want. You will then need to slip your wire through the very first loop that you made and making sure all of the other loops are also included, twist to hold. finish
If this does not work for you, you can make small-large loops (the size will depend on the size of bow you would like to have) like and accordion tie the ribbon in the middle and fluff out.
